Welcome! A Little Bit About U&U
Unorthodox & Unhinged is my personal blog. Though I am an Episcopal priest, U&U is not an official mouthpiece for any parish or church. I speak only for myself. Untethered henceforth, I would like to add a third moniker to my decade old blog: Unorthodox | Unhinged | Unfiltered.
Not that what I have to say is original or inspiring or compelling (though I hope it is, at least a little😊) but, you see, writing is mandatory for me. Writing is how I wrestle with angels and make sense out of this world – a few paragraphs at a time. Which right now seems downright impossible. I feel I have a duty to speak out and speak up and not remain silent.
I opine here manically on a number of things: mental health, spirituality, liturgy, books, storytelling, the current state of the world, and more. I am grateful that you stopped here to visit. Even in dark times, I promise to do my best to help you laugh along the way. Humor is one of God's greatest gifts.
“I am my mother’s savage daughter,” Sarah Hester Ross’s chant best captures the mood. Take a listen. “I will not lower my voice.”
